The Associated Utility Contractors of Maryland exists to pursue the following objectives:

• Foster better relations between public bodies and the Utility Contractor members of the AUC.
• Combat unfair practices in this segment of the construction industry, as well as protect and relieve members from unnecessary risks. 
• To exchange information, experience and knowledge with the proper representatives of public bodies, for the benefit of both the members of the AUC and the general public.
• Promote and improve business and social relations among all members of the Association.

Membership in the AUC of Maryland is divided into two classifications.  Contractor memberships are intended for firms engaged in underground utility projects.  Associate memberships are intended for firms who furnish goods or services to contractor members.
